Greetings from Asheville, where it’s been a while since I’ve added anything to our beloved blog. The months have been busy; there was school, work, and so much more, but now I am hoping to devote some time to this blog, again, perhaps making some changes and give it a general freshening up. Stay tuned.
Today is show day for The World Famous Ultimate Twang Radio Show. You can hear the show, anywhere in the world, by simply going the Asheville Free Media page and clicking the listen button. It’s 3 hours of classic country music and nostalgia, hosted by me, your humble Country Musicologist. Simply click the following link to go to our AFM page. And if you live in the Asheville area, soon you’ll be able to hear Ultimate Twang, as well as all of AFM’s programming at 103.3 FM. I’ll keep you informed as we get closer to the big day!

Country music great George Hamilton IV passed away, Wednesday, several days after suffering a heart attack. The North Carolina native and longtime Grand Ole Opry member was 77 years old. In addition to his success here in the U. S., he was also quite popular in Canada, as well as various parts of Europe and Asia, earning him the nickname “International Ambassador Of Country Music”. For a full story on his life and career, check out his obit at the Rolling Stone website. Rest in Peace, George. You will be missed.
